A wormhole (or the Einstein–Rosen bridge)
A wormhole is a speculative structure linking two points in spacetime, and based on actual science. A wormhole looks like a tunnel with two ends, each at separate points in spacetime.
A wormhole can connect extremely long distances like a billion light years or short distances such as a few meters, different universes, or different points in time.
A wormhold connects John Crichton to his new crew on Moya in Farscape. Wormholes are used to regularly bring conflict to Star Trek. Doctor Who uses them often in his travel through time and space.
Wormholes are consistent with the general theory of relativity, but whether wormholes actually exist remains to be seen.
