Pure Fiction But We Wish It Was Real: R is for R2-D2

Pure Fiction But We Wish It Was Real: R is for R2-D2

Readers, who get my monthly newsletters know I’m addicted to Netflix.

I’ve always been a binge watcher and Netflix appeals to my television viewing habits.

I’m currently binge watching the Clone Wars. You might be surprised to learn my absolute favorite Star Wars character is R2-D2 (Artoo-Detoo).

A small astromech droid, R2-D2 is a major character and appears in nine out of the ten Star Wars films to date. He communicates in beeps and whistles and his dialogue is usually translated unless it is a reaction whistle. He is often paired with C-3PO but he comes through for Padme, Anakin, and Luke Skywalker more times than can be counted.

He’s loyal, and comes through when you need him most. I’ve left a little room for BB-8 because he’s just an adorable new addition and yes, I love him.

If you have a favorite robot, who’s yours? If not, do you have a favorite character in Star Wars?

    1. I’m trying to figure out where did the Artoo vs. R2 spelling came from. Is that from the books? I’m the first to admit I’m not caught up on all Star Wars lore.

    1. Husband bought me a BB-8. I’m scared I’m going to break it so I haven’t put it together just yet :-/
