AURORA BURNING: An Honest Review

**SPOILERS**SPOILERS**SPOILERS**SPOILERS**SPOILERS**SPOILERS**

The second book chronicling the edge-of-your-seat-adventures of Squad 312, Aurora Burning by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, is currently in circulation. Regardless of the lockdown of 2020, eager readers have gotten their hands on physical copies of the book including special editions in the blue, yellow, and red sprayed pages, spanning the globe.

The series picks up again with the squad on the run for their lives. Trying to stay ahead of corrupt authorities and two vicious gangs, they find themselves in the middle of a blood-feud between two ancient alien species.

Their only chance at survival is if they stick together and trust each other despite their differences. I dare you not to fall in love with each and every one of them.

However, it’s time to be honest about something.

If you detest cliffhangers at the end of your books like you hate the taste of last night’s pizza when you belch, then wait until book three is released.

Why wait?

The third book in the series will be released next year. That’s 2021. Yes, like the last three Star Wars movies you’ll have to wait a full year to get your next fix. You have been warned.

Is it worth it?

It depends on how invested you are in the series and avoiding spoilers. If you’ve read this far then you’re a pure glutton for punishment. Go get the book already.

Though the book centers its attention on the Sildrathi, Kal who graces the cover, there’s a lot here to unpack about Zila and of course, Auri and her newfound abilities.

There’s a mystery thread that will have you holding your breath until the end. The answers will not come at the end of the book. Sorry folks, you’re going to have to wait to exhale for another YEAR!

Yeah, we’re mad about it too, but you know we’re going to be here for it anyway. **sigh**
