A-Z Challenge Krypton

K is for Krypton

Although not a true adaptation, Krypton made the list because of it’s strong connection to the Superman franchise. Superman has been adapted so many times we couldn’t include every TV show, comic, or movie or else this would get boring. So we decided to do something different. This isn’t another origins story. This is a series that accounts Superman’s grandfather. What was Krypton like before Superman was even born? I guess we’ll have to watch it to find out.

From David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight) comes a new story that will change a legend and forge a destiny. Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe) – whose House of El was ostracized and shamed – as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

Will there be more stories written in this universe? Would you read them if there were? Feel free to comment below.

  1. I think I like my Superman as is. You’re right that there have been a lot of versions and I’ve even enjoyed some. I quite enjoyed Lois and Clarke, at least until halfway through Season 2, when it started getting silly. I loved the first two films with Christopher Reeve, but not the third and never bothered with the fourth. Smallville – I liked the first few episodes, but lost interest. For me, George Reeves is the best visual Superman. I bought a couple of seasons and was delighted at how well it had held up, despite the shaky sets. Clarke Kent was not playing the klutz. The police respected him without his having to change costumes. Lois Lane was string, though sh3 did make some idiotic mistakes when she was after a story.

I’m not sure I could be bothered with a soap opera set on Krypton! Sorry! Not for me.

    1. Lois and Clark was definitely one of the favorites! Thanks for that memory.
