A-Z Challenge Godzilla

G is for Godzilla

The famous Japanese monster that lives on, makes a come back almost very few years. We’ve shown just a taste of what you’ll find if you want to dive into this horror classic.

Godzilla is depicted as an enormous, destructive, prehistoric sea monster awakened and empowered by nuclear radiation. With the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Lucky Dragon 5 incident still fresh in the Japanese consciousness, Godzilla was conceived as a metaphor for nuclear weapons.[17] As the film series expanded, some stories took on less serious undertones, portraying Godzilla as an antihero, or a lesser threat who defends humanity. With the end of the Cold War, several post-1984 Godzilla films shifted the character’s portrayal to themes including Japan’s forgetfulness over its imperial past,[18] natural disasters, and the human condition. -Wikipedia

  1. Hello fellow A-to-Zer! Godzilla is pretty cool. I have never seen a Godzilla movie, but then I don’t really do movies, so that isn’t really a surprise. Anyway, G for Godzilla is a good choice.
    Happy A-to-Zing!
